A Kaleidoscope of Learning
Lectures, Conferences, Forums, Food, Music and Dance.

SCCDC offers a variety of programs to enhance multicultural understanding. Underlying all of our services is an emphasis on respect for individual and cultural differences, including people of every nationality and background.
SCCDC Monthly Meetings: Literature, geography and history blend together to focus on a single aspect of diversity and sharing of information.
Quarterly “Diversity Roundtable” Forums: Hosted by member corporations and organizations, these forums bring together managers, administrators, human resources personnel and diversity professionals. Companies share their strategies for managing workplace diversity effectively, enabling workers to become more efficient and productive.
Annual Video Conference: Live via satellite, Coalition partners with local organizations to bring this videoconference to the public.
Annual Diversity Dialogue Month Program: A special month long program to connect the people of all races, culture, language, and gender to promote tolerance, acceptance, inclusion and celebration in the community.
Resource Directory: A special directory used by many organizations as an effective tool for creating awareness of the many events that are important to cultures from around the world.
Assistance: Coalition assists corporations, organizations and schools in the successful implementation of their diversity initiatives or programs. This assistance includes supplying information on ethnic groups and events in Somerset County, providing referrals or connections to many resources, and organizing artists and speakers.
Connections: Coalition provides relocated employees connections to their ethnic community in Somerset County.
Publications: Coalition publishes and distributes Coalition News, a newsletter focusing on cultural diversity.
News Article: Coalition members write articles and opinion pieces for area newspapers.
The Somerset County Cultural Diversity Coalition: is recognized as the State model for the development of cultural awareness and education. For nearly five years, the SCCDC has worked diligently to promote multicultural understanding in the workplace as well as in the community through various educational programs and cultural events. The SCCDC has been producing a "Resource Directory" for members and community stakeholders since 1996.
The directory is imprinted with sponsor logos and is widely distributed to targeted schools, libraries, businesses and community organizations throughout the county.
